Conventions like IWAG are enabled by none other than hard, voluntary work by its own community members. It's the culmination of the brains, brawns, and friendships, each providing their skills and expertise in their own unique ways to deliver the most fun convention experience possible.

Fair Contribution Load Policy

We want to be absolutely 100% clear that IWAG is an organization run by voluntary efforts. Nobody will be expected to give the same effort as they'd be expected from a paying, full-time job. Your health and wellbeing also comes first, so we'll understand if you can't come to a meeting or two, or if you need a mental break, or prioritize what's most important in your life. We get that deadlines take a lot of your bandwidth (even our Leadership deal with this at their day jobs!)

We have our open slots outlined on this page. Applications can be done by filling in an online form. We'll be reaching out to candidates who are shortlisted for several rounds of interviews to ensure that you are a good fit to our team.

Our team — and yourself as you join — are working on a voluntary basis, so things may take some time.

Placements

At Con

You are expected to be active during the con. Most of your work load happens within the convention grounds itself.

Remote

Your work is done remotely outside the convention period. This means you will have things to do in your free time, be expected to attend remote meetings, and contribute asynchronously to the team.

Commitments

Yearround Commitment

You are expected to be actively planning and contributing all year round, including all phases of planning. You'll turn concepts and ideas into action items, objectives, and deliverables, and help bring it all the way to the con.

Operational Period Commitment

You are expected to be working full shift during the con duration, few months before, and few weeks after, but you are not required to be around during the longer planning phases.

At Con Commitment

You are expected to be active mostly the few weeks before the convention, during the convention, and a few days after the convention.

Privacy

Should you choose to register your interest to join our team, we require you to provide your Personally Identifiable Information (PII) as part of this form, and will require you to provide more PII as part of the Staff onboarding and lifecycle. As Staff members will be official representations of the organization, information will be required to ensure accountability and transparency within the team.

This information can only be accessed by relevant Staff members who are bound to the IWAG Staff Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure Agreement and the general IWAG Privacy Policy.

General PII that we require from all Staff members will be collected through this form are:

  • Your Legal Name
  • Your Email Address
  • Your Age
  • Your Phone Number
  • Your Social Media Identifiers

Specific PII that will be processed through the Staff lifecycle are completely voluntary. Examples of information we may process are, but are not limited to:

  • Dietary Preferences, if necessary
  • Health information, concerns and risks, if necessary
  • Financial transaction receipts and statements, if needed for reimbursements related to con work
  • Residential Address, if required for shipping items or if part of the Logistics network, or for random martabak deliveries.

We will not retain a copy of your identification card (Passport, National ID, Drivers’ License), but we will need to see it to provide your badge during the event.

Upon successful offer as a Staff member, all Staff members are bound to a Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure Agreement before granted access to information that is deemed required for the incumbent Staff member to perform their duties, and will become governed by the general IWAG Privacy Policy.
