Con Ops
Job Description
This is the left brain of the con away from the visible eye of our attendees - where the magic is supported by brains, sweat and tears from a team of brilliant strategists and problem solvers. This is where anything can happen. Most convention war stories happen here - do you want to help run the con smoothly with us?
Roles and Responsibilities
- Assist in the execution and fine tuning of procedures across the departments
- Bring together the planning, procedures, and inventory for all operational aspects of the con, such as logistics, security, registration, attendee wellbeing, inventory movement, and incident response management.
- Set volunteers in terms of operating/standing by the convention operations room.
- Be ready to improvise, adapt, and overcome any problems with any available resources to keep things running smoothly.
- Be able to help other staff and volunteer with their problem-solving needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Fluent in written and spoken Bahasa Indonesia and English (CEFR B2 minimum).
- Have background and experience in business administration or operations, both formal or through event management. We’d highly consider those who have staffed at other fandom conventions!
- Know how to read corporate lingo, sheets and charts. Knowledge on basic project management fundamentals is a big plus.
- Highly self-organized and has the initiative to keep everything organized to their best extent.
- Experience with LASSIE (Listen, Acknowledge, Separate, Sit, Indicate, Encourage) is a plus.
- Team player with a customer service attitude at heart.
- Enjoys the challenge of solving problems with no clear-cut solutions.
